REQUIREMENTS OF THE STATE FOR 491 VISA

REQUIREMENTS OF THE STATE FOR 491 VISA

The state opening dates for the 491 visa are shown below, along with more specific information.

For a period of five years, points-tested skilled workers and their families are permitted to live, study, and work in certain regional regions under the terms of the Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) (subclass 491) visa. If you are given a Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) (subclass 491) visa, you could be qualified to apply for a Permanent residency (Skilled Regional) (subclass 191) visa, which grants you permanent residency and the freedom to live and work anywhere you like in Australia.

The subclass 491 is a temporary, points-tested visa designed to help rural Australia access the talent and resources it needs to develop and prosper. This visa is for persons who want to live permanently in regional Australia and who have highly sought-after abilities on the job market there. The Department of Home Affairs oversees the issuance of this visa.

It is important to keep in mind that, in addition to the minimal standards established by the Department of Home Affairs, each state and territory has its own set of conditions that all candidates seeking nomination must satisfy. It might be challenging to navigate state and territorial regulations.

To help you better understand what has to be done to improve your chances of receiving invites, we have summarized the fundamental requirements of all states and territories in this post.

Allocations of state and territory-nominated visas (2023–2024)

The following nomination levels have been assigned for 2023–24 (in relation to the prior financial year) after consultation with States and Territories:

other qualifying professions
Applicants are no longer needed to use STEMM skills or work in a specific industry, and any jobs on the applicable Department of Home Affairs occupation list are now eligible.
