for five years, travel to and from Australia
Within five years of the day we issue this visa, the child may make as many trips as they like to and from Australia. As long as this visa’s ability to travel is still in effect.
After the initial 5-year travel facility, if the youngster desires to travel:
- To return to Australia as a permanent resident, they must apply for and be granted a Resident Return (RRV) visa.

HOW LONG A CHILD CAN REIMBURSE
It is a long-term visa. The child is permitted to remain in Australia indefinitely.
The day we issue the visa, the child is a permanent resident.
INCLUDE OTHER YOUTH
You should submit separate applications for each sibling if they desire to participate in the application process.
The dependent children of the applicant may be listed on their application at any moment up until the application’s decision.
Children who are dependent on the child applying for the visa must be in good health.

CONTACT FROM
The child must be present in Australia at the time the application is made and the DHA makes its decision, but not in immigration clearance.
If the child is in Australia on a different visa that has a no further stay restriction, they are not eligible to apply for this visa.

THE CHILD’S RESPONSIBILITIES
Any dependents must abide by all Australian laws, including the child.
BE THE CHILD OF THEIR PARENTS.
There must be parental dependence on the child. Their parents may be among them:
- natural child
- child adopted
- stepchild
Adoptive kids
If the kid was adopted following the parent’s naturalisation as an eligible New Zealand citizen, an Australian permanent resident, or both, they must have been adopted after:
through an international adoption that involves the central authority of an Australian state or territory, or
the Hague Convention on the Protection of Children and Cooperation in Respect of Intercountry Adoption (the Hague Adoption Convention), which is an agreement between two nations (other than Australia) or
Through an overseas adoption by an eligible Australian citizen, eligible New Zealand citizen, or holder of an Australian permanent visa who had lived outside of Australia for more than a year prior to the adoption’s completion, if no Australian state or territory central authority was involved.
Stepchildren
A stepchild must meet the following requirements in order to qualify for this visa:
- to have a child born to their parent’s ex-partner.
- Age less than 18
The stepparent also has to have:
- An Australian parenting order that is now in effect that mandates that the child reside with and be cared for by them, or
- Custody or guardianship of the kid pursuant to Australian law or the law of another nation
INCLUDE A SPONSOR
The kid must be sponsored by one of the qualifying parents, or by the spouse or common-law partner of those parents.
We must give sponsorship our approval. If the sponsor or their partner has been accused or found guilty of crimes involving minors, DHA may not accept sponsorship.
THIS AGE BE
The youngster must either be:
under the age of 18, or
18 to 25 years old and a full-time student, or
older than 18 and disabled
if the kid is older than 18
If the child is at least 18 years old, they must:
- Unable to become engaged to marry; and
- cannot be in a de facto relationship and has never been in one
if the youngster is 18–25 years old and enrolled in school full-time
if the child is between the ages of 18 and 25
- must seek and receive a visa while enrolled full-time in school.

- Must be reliant on their parents financially
- If the youngster is enrolled in school full-time and:
- enrolled full-time in a program that prepares students for a professional, trade, or
- professional certification
- taking courses
if the child has a disability and is older than 18
If the child has a disability and is at least 18 years old, they must:

HAVE NO SPONSOR
The youngster
- Both marriage and de facto relationships are prohibited
- Cannot become engaged to marry
- The child must not have been married or lived with a de facto partner if they are over the age of 18.
REQUIREMENTS FOR HEALTH
Our health requirements must be met by the child and any of their dependant children who apply for the visa with them.
Children who are dependent but are not applying for a visa may also need to comply with our health requirements.
MEET THE CHARACTER QUALIFICATIONS
The youngster must meet our character criteria if they are 16 years old or under.
DHA may also request that the conditions be met by their dependant children who seek for the visa alongside them.
HAVE REPAID THE AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT DEBT
If the child or any other member of their family owes money to the Australian government, it must be repaid or a formal arrangement must be made to do so.
SIGN THE STATEMENT OF AUSTRALIAN VALUES.
Those under the age of 18 must:
- Having read the booklet Life in Australia or had it explained to them
- individuals affirm their commitment to abiding by Australian laws and the Australian way of life by signing the Australian Values Statement.
NOT HAVE A CANCELLED VISA OR REFUSED PRIOR APPLICATION
If any of the following have occurred since the child’s previous arrival in Australia:
- declined to grant a visa, or
- removed a visa
GET PERMISSION TO TRAVEL TO AUSTRALIA
Only in the following situations will we issue this visa to a child under the age of 18:
- Everyone who has the authority to determine a child’s residence has given their written consent, or
- The child is permitted to leave their nation of origin by local regulations, or
- It adheres to all Australian child protection orders regarding the child.
