Describe your closest relative.
Your parent or your partner’s parent (including biological and step-parent), brother, sister, stepbrother, or stepsister, child (including stepchild) who has reached the age of 18 and is not a dependent child, or child (including stepchild) who has not reached the age of 18 but is not under your or your partner’s daily supervision.
When determining if you are a remaining relative, we do not take into account how much contact you have with your close relatives.
Who sponsors you?
Your parent, brother, sister, stepbrother, stepsister, or one of their partners must be your sponsor. For the first two years of your stay in Australia, they must agree to provide you with support, housing, and financial aid. Any family members listed as applicants on your application are also included in this agreement.
You need a sponsor who:
- a minimum age of 18; and
- emigrated to Australia
- a national of Australia
- a permanent resident of Australia,
- a citizen of New Zealand who qualifies.

Avoid requesting this visa if
- You or your partner have any close relatives who regularly reside outside of Australia or who are only in the country illegally, temporarily, or on a Bridging visa.
- Your sponsor (or their partner) was the owner of, or sponsored someone else for, a Family (subclass 806), Preferential Family (subclass 104) or Remaining Relative (subclass 835 or 115) visa.
Health
Certain health requirements must be met. Typically, the outcomes are good for 12 months. Before we ask you to, wait to schedule a physical.

The character
