Regarding this visa
You can enter Australia temporarily using the Temporary Work (Short Stay Specialist) visa (subclass 400) for the following purposes:

Whenever necessary, engage in work or activities that further Australia’s interests.
You must include in processing time when submitting your subclass 400 visa application, taking into consideration the date you want to depart for Australia.
As of November 19, 2016, an Invited Participant is no longer a part of the Temporary Work (Short Stay Specialist) visa (subclass 400).
What this visa permits
With this visa, you may:
remain in Australia as long as your visa is in effect (usually up to three months, although up to six months may be permitted in specific circumstances).
do the brief, highly specialist, one-time work for which the visa was issued.
under certain conditions, engage in work or activities advancing Australia’s interests.
If your family members are eligible to be included in your application, you may bring them to Australia with you. The members of your family cannot work in Australia.
Combining a holiday with your intended business or activity could be acceptable if the holiday is brief and serves a different goal from the reason you are there.

Location
- When your visa application is submitted and when it is approved or denied, you and everyone else listed on it must be outside of Australia.

Your connections
- You and your family must adhere to all visa requirements and Australian legal requirements.
- You can only engage in the tasks or pursuits for which your visa was approved.
- For this visa, you must submit a fresh application if you wish to:
- take part in an activity (or activities) other than those you indicated in your application
- work for a company that isn’t one of the ones you listed in your application.
