Features
People who have resided and/or worked in certain regional Australia locations are eligible for the 887 visa, which allows for an indefinite stay.
Eligibility
You have to
- For those who have a subclass 489, 495, 496, 475, or 487 visa, or a Bridging visa A or B obtained after applying for a subclass 489, 495, or 487 visa, it is a route to permanent residency (PR).
- have spent at least two years residing in a designated regional area of Australia
- have at least one year of full-time employment in a designated regional area
Starting at AUD 475
The DHA charges $475 for the primary applicant, $240 for the partner, and $120 for each additional under-18 applicant for the 887 visa.

Eligibility-
existing visa
- You must now hold one of the following positions:
- an expert visa
- a subclass 487, 489, or 495 application that resulted in the issuance of a Bridging visa A or Bridging visa B.
- Before applying for the visa, you must have held a skilled visa at some point for at least two years.
- Note: Dependents and partners who are in possession of a skilled visa and satisfy all other requirements may apply for this subclass 887 visa in their own right.
