VISA FOR TRAINING (SUBCLASS 407)
For those travelling to Australia for short stays to pursue professional development or occupational training, there is the Training Subclass 407 Visa. The Training visa enables individuals to pursue professional training in Australia in order to fulfil requirements for occupational registration or licencing, to improve skills in their line of work, or to build capacity abroad.
Typically, the visa is good for a 2-year stay in Australia. Condition 8102, which prohibits labour outside of the training listed in the visa application, is a requirement of the visa. While in Australia, you must continue your health insurance.

COMMON VISA REQUIREMENTS
There are two ways to qualify for the visa. All applicants, however, must demonstrate that they:

- Comply with the standards for character and health

- comparable to at least 12 months of full-time work in the field
- has happened within the 24 months prior to the nomination being filed.
- For an international qualification, up to six months of practical experience, research, or observation are needed.
- Training that is funded by a government organisation or the applicant’s home government
In contrast to classroom instruction, occupational training typically calls for at least 70% of the training to be done on the job.
Professional Growth
You would need to be employed in a management or professional capacity abroad in order to do this. Training would need to be in skills applicable to your employment and would mostly take place in a classroom setting.
VISA REQUIREMENTS

Condition 8102: The primary candidate may only work in Australia in support of their educational or training programmes.
Condition 8104: While the holder is in Australia, secondary applicants may not work more than 40 hours per fortnight.
